Shameless display of affection on the internet
It seems to me that many Vietnamese people in Vietnam are picking up with the blogging trend nowadays. Take a tour at blogsearch, type in a few commonly used Vietnamese words and *BAM* you will find a whole listing of new blogs in Vietnamese. To add more excitement, just add the words "tình yêu" into your search box and I guarantee you will not be disappointed of what you will find.
The other day, while skimming through the list, I noticed this one blog authored by this one young man whose girlfriend's name is Liên. Taken from the evidences of what he wrote, I can make a firm assumption that the relationship came about through online chat and the girlfriend lives abroad, separated by huge gaps of many time zones. The funny part about his blog is the relentless and shameless goosebumps-inducing love notes he wrote for the girlfriend.
Not only his love notes were trite but also repetitively redundant with innumerable apologies made to the girlfriend, over the issues of not promptly responding to her emails or online messages. Then, once in awhile, amid the overzealous testosteronal display of affection, he intermittently and bravely ASKED his girlfriend to send him MONEY!!! As you might have noticed, I do have a curious mind, so I decided to pursue of what have been further written. From what I perceived, albeit the incoherent love messages the guy publicly confessed, the girlfriend actually sent money to him quite frequently. There is a funny catch, the guys seemed to be unemployed and/or hopping from one temporary and menial job to another.
Now, I am not attacking the guy of his employ/unemployment situation because I know too well of the harsh economy and the scarcity of stable jobs available for young people in Vietnam. What I found funny is the ways he manipulates the relationship and takes advantages of the woman whom he claims as the love of his life. By the way, at the age of 20, I doubt that it is the love of his life or does he fully experience love in the ways he claimed. But hey, if that's what he feels toward the woman and if she does not mind, then let be it. It's not my business for all that matters!
Nonetheless, I found his blog hilarious and entertaining. At least he made my day.
